Steinhatchee to Cedar Key to Anclote Key
SUNDAY
Sunday-Tuesday February 1-3, 2026
We woke up to 22 degrees. Enough said. Way too cold and windy to do much, so today is perfect for a deep clean inside. Jeff plans to tackle some bilge cleaning… and I will happily stick to my chores, thank you very much! 😄
I made homemade chicken noodle soup and brownies for dinner😊. I actually never left the boat today. 🥶
MONDAY
We all left at 10:30 this morning to move on. We could not leave any earlier…had to wait to go out on a rising tide. We made our way to Cedar Key where we anchored and we all took our dinghy’s in for dinner. We found a place called Steamers Clam Bar and Grill. We sat in an enclosed porch area with heaters since Gio was with us. The food was very good and we had a great time. Bryan and Kathy from Avontuur are heading to Crystal River tomorrow while we and Eddie and Karen from Winsor Rose are heading south. Hopefully we can catch up with everyone again in the keys.

TUESDAY
The anchorage was a little noisy at first, but the waves settled down and we stayed very still. Great nights sleep and it only got down to 45 degrees outside. Things might be warming up🤪. When pulling up anchor this morning the dolphins were out enjoying their breakfast.
We cruised about 65 miles on our third and final leg of the Gulf crossing—mission accomplished! 🙌 We rafted up with Winsor Rose at Anclote Key near Tarpon Springs, officially trading open water for the calm embrace of the Intracoastal Waterway (ahhh 😌).
Doug and Melissa from LieLo anchored close by, and before long all six of us were together, swapping stories, laughs, and a whole lot of boating camaraderie. Many intelligent (and entertaining!) conversations were had 🥰
A perfect way to celebrate the end of a big crossing and the start of the next chapter. 🌅⚓️
