Day 234 Last day in Fort Myers

WEDNESDAY

We slept like rocks last night thanks to glassy calm waters—no rocking, no rattling, just pure boat bliss. Apparently we needed it, because we all jolted awake at 8am! 😳 On a boat, that’s practically noon. Thankfully, we still had plenty of time for a relaxed breakfast and to get Mom packed up and off to the airport.

It was such a special visit, and she truly soaked up every minute of boat life. Jeff stayed behind to give the boat a little TLC while I made the airport run. Once I got back, it was full-on chore mode for me too—because the boat doesn’t clean itself (wouldn’t that be nice?).

By afternoon, the day shifted from productive to perfect. Some good friends came by to see us, and of course we had to take them out for a spin on the water. Sunshine, smooth cruising, laughter—it was one of those postcard-worthy days that reminds us why we’re doing this Great Loop adventure in the first place.

We capped it all off with dinner at the cutest little Italian spot nearby called —STARZ. And the pizza? Absolute perfection. Easily some of the best we’ve had in years—crispy crust, melty cheese, plenty of toppings and just the right amount of “we should probably order another one.” 🍕✨

A full, happy, heart-squeezing kind of day.

Galen & Marge and Rod & Judy joining us for a boat ride before dinner. Great to catch up with them!
