WEDNESDAY
We said goodbye to Jensen Beach and pointed the bow toward Vero Beach, hoping to snag a tour of the Piper Aircraft facility. No such luck—those reservations are harder to land than a crosswind touchdown! Looks like we’ll just have to come back and properly explore these charming seaside towns along Florida’s east coast…not exactly a hardship.
Back on board, I tackled a project and managed to finish repairing the largest isinglass panel—victory! Although, my sewing machine is starting to protest. I think the salty air is getting to it…poor thing. We picked up a mooring ball for the night, cooked dinner onboard, and soaked in the peaceful vibe. It’s such a cute area—rowers gliding through the mooring field, their boats slicing through the water like clockwork. Definitely a place you could linger.

THURSDAY
Today, the clouds finally gave way to sunshine—what a welcome sight! We made our way to Melbourne, but by late morning Mother Nature decided to remind us who’s boss. The winds kicked up to a steady 20+ mph with gusts pushing into the high 30s—right on the nose, of course. Nothing like pounding into it to keep things interesting!
We called it an early day and tucked into an anchorage by mid-afternoon. It turned into a pretty rolly evening, with the boat rocking us more than we would’ve liked. Fingers crossed things settle down overnight.
